High Quality Science Instructional Materials (HQIM)

High Quality Instructional Materials are content-rich, fully accessible, culturally and linguistically relevant, free from bias, research-based, aligned to New Mexico content standards, and a comprehensive full course of study. They are written with a clear purpose, effective lesson structure, and pacing to provide flexibility for teachers to best support learning for all students, encouraging inquiry, complex problem-solving, and curiosity. HQIM provides a variety of relevant assessments to support and guide teachers with professional tools to evaluate student comprehension of the content and provide a deeper understanding of the standards. HQIM also represents a variety of cultural and linguistic perspectives and highlights diversity in culture and language through multiple perspectives to support students in making meaning of each content area.

Below are the review results for the 2024 Science adoption. The newly adopted core and supplementary instructional materials for science can be found by clicking the appropriate tab in the Adopted Multiple List–All Subjects. The Form F scoring rubrics and the review team Appraisals of Title are posted below. The Appraisal of Title provides detailed information about each reviewed core title, including review scores and reviewers' professional summaries of the materials, for districts to use as they consider instructional materials for their adoption. In addition, all the information for each reviewed core title is available on our HQIM Reviews website.
