NGSS + Six New Mexico Specific Standards = NM STEM Ready! Science Standards

Our NM STEM Ready! Science Standards were adopted in 2018. Listed in this section are the NM STEM Ready! Science standards K–12, NM Specific Standards, and K–12 Recommended Course Maps as a guide. For each grade level or science subject, NGSS evidence statements help educators with the "look-fors or callouts" to identify what students should know and be able to do by the end of the school year at that grade level.

Next Generation Science Standards: For States, By States. (2013) Free PDF Download -Next Generation Science Standards identifies the science all K-12 students should know. These new standards are based on the National Research Council's A Framework for K-12 Science Education. The National Research Council, the National Science Teachers Association, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and Achieve have partnered to create standards through a collaborative state-led process. The standards are rich in content, practice, and arranged coherently across disciplines and grades to provide all students with an internationally benchmarked science education.
